Please help!

This photo has been haunting me since it was taken. It's so rare to get a photo of all of us  and I had really hoped this one could hang on our wall someday.  However, in my limited knowledge of Photoshop CS4, I just haven't been able to get the shadows right.

The original
ISO: 160
Shutter: 1/1000
Aperture: 2.8
Focal Length: 43mm

Thank you!

I would still use this photo even though the lighting was less than ideal. I played with it for a bit and came up with my own edit (I will email it to you if you would like). But most importantly, it's probably good to know that I used MCP's free action "Touch of Light/Touch of Darkness" and painted light onto the shadows. I also added some fill light with an action I own and painted it only on the subjects. It helped, but the shadows aren't gone. I think they add nice sense of depth and contrast without totally ruining the photo.

Thank Christina! I am familiar with that MCP action but didn't use it with this photo. I haven't yet learned how to paint the shadows and the rest yet though. Thanks so much for your help! I would love to see what you did. My email address is nvreid@hotmail.com
